Spring Break Bust & Books

As I've said before, this blog is more of an oxymoron than a statement. Balancing your life is hard enough, but throw in a professional "hobby" like writing, and every day is a balancing act. Last week was Spring Break for a lot of people in the South, and most of our friends hit the beach and theme parks. But not everybody.
Florida Keys, 2012. I miss it!

We've been blessed in our family to travel and enjoy a lot of good times, but this year with half of us in college, a son serving a church mission and those wonderful government furloughs, we stayed home, and it was business as usual. I skipped blogging last week to finish up some books for review, so if you're looking for a Spring Break read for your vacation, check out these two books below. If they pique your interest, by all means support the authors and pick up a copy. They are clean, sweet and exciting fun. Authors love word-of-mouth reviews!

 Medieval Adventure
Knight of Glory (Kingdom of Arnhem, Book 2)

I enjoyed book two of this series, but you must start with book one, Woman of Honor, to pick up with Aislinn of Bairbhe who dreams of becoming a knight. Despite her family's disapproval, she is soon put to the test and falling in love with the prince who was once her greatest critic. In, Kingdom of Arnhem, Book 2, Aislinn's best friend, Sir Geoffrey, must go back to war to protect his kingdom, but his thoughts are distracted by the mesmerizing Lady Celestia.

Zoltack's storytelling is romantic and adventurous. I like that she is tasteful even with this violent time period. The details and dialogue are fun to explore, and the story is historical entertainment that carries you away for awhile. The series I've read so far, are fun books and would make great summer reading for almost any age.

Pick up the Kingdom of Arnhem series at Amazon.com.

Sweet Teen Romance
One Rainy Summer

I happen to be a fan of B.J. Robinson. She writes very simple and traditional stories of self-discovery from the heart. Her latest, One Rainy Summer, is a young adult Inspirational read set in the backwoods of hot and steamy Florida. This short novel leads Hope on a summer adventure that unravels her Granny's secret past and what it has to do with her mother. Along the way, her best friend and boy next door steals her heart, and suddenly the beauty of the woods, sunshine and Alligator Lake become more special to her than she ever imagined.

Ms. Robinson's books are appropriate for all ages (any Southern country girl!) and cover several different genres. One Rainy Summer is perfect for an afternoon escape and appropriate for even the youngest tween.

One Rainy Summer is at Amazon.com and other online stores.

Thank, you, for stopping by. Hope you enjoy her books. I suggest also, her "Last Resort"--a Christian suspense.

Glad the books pique everyone's interest. And I don't mind staying home during Spring Break. We got lots of work done and had some quiet time.
