May Giveaway

What's the last book you read? Was it a print or electronic version?

Did you know that the best book promotion out there is word-of-mouth?  People like to share what
I'm currently reading and loving this book.
they're reading, and authors, especially those without a New York publishing giant behind them, need reviews and ratings on their novels to help get the word out.

Now, I don't condone saying a book is awesome when it's not, and I certainly frown on leaving a nasty remark in a review forum. That doesn't mean sharing your personal opinion isn't important. It is important, truly, which is why I feature a guest author here at The Balanced Author every other month or so.

I was a contributing editor on this great paranormal.

Summer is just around the corner, and it's time to start your wish list for books to read that will take you away. Ask your friends, troll some book blogs and check out review sites. Authors need you. Not just to read their adventures, but to spread the word!

**Giveaway**
This month's giveaway is a $10 gift card for any Target store, along with a couple postcards from Yours Truly. Simply comment below on the last book you read and leave your contact information!

This contest ends 5/30/2012. Good luck!

Right now, I am reading, "Angels' Blood" by Nalini Singh. I am only on page 33 so I'm not really sure how it is but so far I'm not disappointed!

Before that I read, "Ever Shade" by Alexia Purdy. It was very good and I enjoyed writing up a review for it. I love writing reviews and it always makes me happy to write one for a very enjoyable book! (I also love indie authors so it was twice as awesome!)

I'm rambling a bit here but that last was a good read. I'm going to check out the books shown on this page now and see what I can add to my "To read" list.

Hope everyone has a very happy month of May.

Thanks for all the book referrals. I can't wait to check them out.

Shelly, it's awesome you leave reviews for the books you read. It does take time, but it's always helpful to other readers, and the author gets feedback that way, too.
