August Giveaway

Who isn't a romantic? I know you're out there, but being a writer I tend to hang with the Jane Austen crowd or be drawn to sweet, uplifting contemporary romances. This month our giveaway is for a Victorian suspense with sweet romance and Regency ties. Author Debra Brown wrote Amazon bestseller, The Companionship of Lady Holmeshire after a deep study of period dramas. She is the woman behind English Historical Fiction Authors, a blog I follow because of the excellent, sourced articles that cover a range of topics of English history. If you enjoy history, I recommend signing up for those informative posts via email.

The Companionship of Lady Holmeshire is about Emma Carrington, a foundling sent to work for the Countess of Holmeshire. When the Countess decides to make her a personal companion, Emma must enter society and deal with the problems of knowing she is lower class and falling for a gentleman already taken. There is also suspense, humor, and a surprise twist. This novel has good reviews from both Goodreads and Amazon. I know I'm anxious to read it. Are you ready?

About the Author:

Debra Brown has enjoyed creative pursuits—painting, jewelry and cloche hat-making—and has
worked in the interior design field. While making jewelry, she watched all the period dramas she could possibly find and when she ran out, she tried her hand at making up her own. The early Victorian story The Companion of Lady Holmeshire was the result. She is now working on The Dante and Evangeline Series. For the Skylark was inspired by the Dickens’ character, Miss Havisham. Debra is also the co-editor of Castles, Customs, and Kings: True Tales by English Historical Fiction Authors, releasing Sept. 23rd, an anthology of selected posts from her blog, English Historical Fiction Authors. Debra runs the Goodreads group Historical Info for Historical Fiction Readers.
