Dani, as you celebrate the release of your new book on July 1st, Canada celebrates its 143rd birthday, too, so congratulations to you, and to us.

At for the oil spill, I am appalled and saddened by the loss of marine and shoreline habitat and the suffering of all the creatures harmed, including the humans. I'm eternally grateful that my Provincial government has put a moratorium on off-shore exploration and drilling along the coast of BC. I only wish we had stronger laws about double-hulled tankers, because they ply our coasts constantly and accidents, as we all know, happen.

Hi Danielle,
Congrats on the release. Wishing you a bestseller and fantastic reviews.

As to the oil spill, it seems that man is indeed determined to destroy all the gifts God has provided in the name of making money. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this awful disaster.

Dani, congrats on your new release. By Heart and Compass is definately in the TBR pile. You do such a wonderful job bringing water themes to life in your writing. There's an innocent authencity there that's nice to read about.

Juliet (my muse) says I should to write a mystery/supense romance about Catalina Island. hehe.

(One project at a time, Juliet!!)

I think the spill in the gulf is awful. And I think the carelessness that led up to it is horrifying. All in the name of the dollar. This will effect the region for years to come and sadly, it's a symbol of our greed. I hope that our clean up efforts are adequate.

Smiles
Steph

I've been so busy that I haven't read much about the oil spill. I keep up with it in small bits. My son told me the other day that a group was trying to save sea turtles and their eggs ( think 70,000 was the number quoted). Today a friend posted something on Facebook saying there's a petition to stop BP from using burn-offs because they were also burning the turtles. I don't know how much is true, but it is very worrisome.

Congrats on the new release!
