"If you are a fan of Jane Austen and Regency Romance,
you will be smitten by Josette."

I tend to be an eclectic person. I like a little bit of everything. When I first saw the phrase, "hybrid author," my antenna went up. Already traditionally published, I also had a book I had put out myself. "Hybrid author" sounded like the perfect gig for me.

Getting a book published is hard. I remember my first manuscript receiving about 80 rejections. Disheartening? Yes. I wouldn't trade the lessons I learned through the process for anything though. Criticism and rejection makes for more determined writers, improvement, and eventually, success.

That doesn't mean every publisher out there is a dream come true. No business is perfect and not everyone out there in Book Land is competent or honest. The success of Indie authors eventually inspired me to look at all of the different avenues of publishing. Because of my years of experience in the e-book industry, going Indie wasn't as hard or scary as it could have been.

Two years ago, I put out an original work as an indie book without turning to a publisher. Proper Attire sold and reviewed better than any of my previous books. It was great being able to create my own book cover and set my own prices. There were no older editions floating around either, that had once been under the control of a publishing house. This book continues to drive all of my book sales today.

This week, I am super excited to be releasing yet another Indie romance, Josette. This five star Jane Austen-inspired romance was picked up by a publisher years ago and did very well. The feedback touched my heart; but the contract ended and being a hybrid author gave me the opportunity to re-edit and release this book myself. It took some time, because I had new fiction projects and freelance work on my plate. However...

Josette now joins the ranks of my Indie and other professionally published books. Here's the goods:

Josette Price sees her future when she gazes across the lawn of Beddingfield Park. Her brother, George, has run off to sea and left the family in her care. Nothing would make her happier than to be settled within the palings of their home, but brooding Captain Carter rides into their lives with news that ruins everything: George has been lost at sea.

Learning the park is entailed to their ambitious cousin, Josette must decide between marrying her fickle childhood sweetheart or helping her infatuated sister trap him in her stead. Only Captain Carter and his delightfully spinsterish relatives can stop the Price girls from making what could be another tragic mistake.

You are cordially invited to participate in this week's free download of my favorite regency romance to date! I am asking all of my friends and readers to enjoy this re-release of a classic romance and leave a review for it at Amazon.com.

Thanks for reading this week's blog. If you do download Josette, I thank you in advance for reading my books and leaving reviews. Friends, family, and reader support mean everything to an author these days!

Stay balanced,
~Danielle Thorne~
