 Conference Takeaways & Book Giveaway

“The happiest people I know are not those who find their golden ticket; they are those who, while in pursuit of worthy goals, discover and treasure the beauty and sweetness of the everyday moments. They are the ones who, thread by daily thread, weave a tapestry of gratitude and wonder throughout their lives. These are they who are truly happy.”

Hey Ya'll!

A chill crept in with November so I’m writing this beside the fireplace although it's warmed up a little after a dull, cold weekend. I love the early weeks of winter when I can finally snuggle into a hoodie or pull on a soft sweater. Don't you? Avoiding extra calories is a challenge though, because we keep the house cool which makes me want to drink cacao, warm lemonade, or herbal tea nonstop. Tell me I’m not alone.

Congratulations to Anita Yancy. You won the giveaway of
A Promise For His Daughter in last month's newsletter!

From the Writing Desk

This past October, I had an inspiring time at the LDSPMA conference in Orem, Utah, enjoying talks from the executive producer and background actors of The Chosen, as well as taking a class about taxes which was helpful and reassuring. I’m also thankful for the unexpected miracle of having account issues at Amazon resolved on the very morning of the conference after ten months of back and forth. It strengthened my weary heart and answered a lot of questions.

The Phantom of Cornwall is now available at all major online retailers as a quick-read novella. I wrote it with the intention of creating a series, and the second story is already outlined, but there are no dates on the calendar just yet. I’ll be playing it by ear as I continue edits on my Women’s Fiction manuscript that is nearing completion. That means I’ll be looking for an agent in 2026, as it is my hope to traditionally publish this quirky and emotionally gritty story about culture, tradition, and motherhood in the South.

Indie Spotlight

I’ve written two Christmas stories for Love Inspired and two fairy tale-inspired Christmas novellas that are now indie-published. Henry's Holiday Charade was written for a challenge to spin-off "The Frog Prince," and a fake relationship was the perfect trope. Here's the teaser:

Henry Caldecott is the reluctant heir to a successful hotel chain. Amanda Hill is trying to get through Christmas without any more debt. When they splash into each other at the chilly Cedarville Library pond, Henry sees the perfect opportunity to make a deal to survive the family Christmas party. All it takes is rescuing a chatty, hyper, damsel-in-distress, but Henry soon realizes Amanda is better than any debutante worthy of his snobby family's acceptance, and that he's the one in need of rescue.

Check it out this season for a cute, Christmasy read!

So long for now...

👋🏼Thank you for reading to the end of my newsletter and for buying and reading my books. I value the feedback, need those reviews, and appreciate your support. I know book purchases are a luxury in times like this, and I want to make every story I write is worth your time and worth the cost. Also, Turkey Day will be here soon, so Happy Thanksgiving in advance to my U.S.-based readers. Have a wonderful time with family, friends, and/or the ones you love. I am thankful for you.

Warmly,
Danielle Thorne
