Christmas, Kisses, and Kindles

Yes, there are some great books on the New York Times Best Sellers list, but nothing beats walking into a bookstore and touching the bright, crisp covers, thumbing through pages, or making your own discoveries. The same idea applies to finding great e-books while browsing online. You can be spoon-fed your book list by big corporate sellers with lots of dough for click through rates, or you can browse reviews, book forums, and blogs to find your next adventure.

Christmas, Kisses, and Kindles...
You need to check out these books!

It's December. Now is a great time to stock up on good reads and end-of-year sales, both in print and for your electronic reading device. Are you ready for the long winter months ahead?

Look no further. I've collected a list of talented, clean romance authors you might find in a bookstore if you look past the noise, as well as what's out there online and in the indie world. Check out these recommendations that include books on my wish list, books I hear are amazing, what's new in sweet romances and clean indie reads, and what I have to offer from my own backlist for you this holiday season.

Check out these authors, buy a book for a gift,
or download a read for yourself.

This guy.

Larry Hammersley, the romantic, gentleman author from Indiana, is making three of his short stories free this Christmas Day through January 1st. His writing is charming, thoughtful, and smart. The cozy romance reader will definitely enjoy his work. I cannot read his stories without smiling. I bet you will, too. Check him out on Smashwords here.

Yes, it's true. Laurean Brooks is one of my favorite clean romance authors. Her stories are down-to-earth with characters that are real--I can relate to them. She has a new release this month, and I can't wait to read it. Visit Ms. Brooks Amazon page. You won't be sorry.

Michelle Cox has been on my radar for some time. This month it's all about her Chicago historical, A Girl like You, which seems to catch my eye every time I'm twitting around Twitter. This release is .99 right now (!), so grab it while it's hot. I just had to click Buy Now while checking out the links for this story. I can't wait to read it.

I'm happy to announce a new Miss Mae short story thriller (Always fun, always clean!) to occupy your thoughts during the morning coffee break... and possibly haunt your sleep at night. Don't miss out on The Timekeeper, from another one of the clean indie world's talented cozy mystery writers.

Paperbacks & E-books by Yours Truly

Whenever someone asks me which one of my books they should start with I usually ask whether they prefer paper or plastic... er... screens. Most of my books are published in both options, thanks to my wonderful publishing companies, Desert Breeze and Atlantic, but some of my best selling indie romances are e-book only. That being said, if I'm new to you, let me recommend two of my favorite stories that are best sellers, too.

Available in Paperback and E-book

Everyone loves a pirate, and everyone loves Goonies. This clean, contemporary romance will take you on a mysterious treasure hunt with two very different adventurers.

When Lacey Whitman buys a restored Victorian home, she never dreams discovering an antique diary will lead her back to sea and into the arms of the dive bum she’d rather forget. Her habit of living in the past comes to a screeching halt as diver Max Bertrand and the diary of his ancestor take Lacey on the quest of a lifetime: to discover and raise the privateer ship, Specter, and bring the treasure and legacy of a true hero home again. But will finding it cost her heart?

Available at Amazon, B&N, Kobo,
and most other bookstores and retailers.

E-book Only

This best-selling historical romance was inspired by my love for Jane Austen and Pirates of the Caribbean. Readers love Proper Attire, and for just $1.99, I think you will, too!

Pressured to marry for money, Julia Scott flees England and a cruel stepmother to determine if the West Indies is the paradise of her dreams. Attacked by pirates and desired by island natives, the only person she can trust is John Smith -- if that's her rescuer's true name. Reaching her uncle's station in English Harbor, Julia must find a way to face her feelings and deal with her traitorous family, a dashing new suitor, and the guardian angel, John Smith, who has no qualms sporting counterfeit names and less than what is proper attire.
