Hurricanes & Harlequin Book Deal

"There’s nothing more pitiful than a wandering creature
who was never meant to be wild.
―Lynda Rutledge, West with Giraffes

Hey Ya'll!
It's pumpkin spice season, football season, and time for hoodies and jackets in the mornings. Hooray! If you have children in school, I hope you're surviving the new year with its scheduling, health, and financial challenges. I still have a hard time driving past the high school that gave our family wonderful memories over the years. Piece by piece, my heart has broken up as my kids moved on, and this Southern girl misses those busy school days and Friday Night Lights. Embrace your season of life. They change before you know it.

This past month Rob and I volunteered to go down to New Orleans to help with hurricane cleanup. (See above picture. Yes, I know my arms are freakishly long.) That was a drive, but I know it was worth it because I can't imagine what I would do with a devastated home and no muscle or extra funds to repair it. I admit there wasn't much I could do tarping roofs with the rest of the "boys," but I did shovel and clean up insulation and debris and offer moral support in the form of not complaining about the heat. Next month, we have another adventure, but you'll have to keep reading to find out where...
From the Writing Desk
So I have good news and bad news. First, the exciting announcement: Last week I signed a contract with Harlequin for my second inspirational romance with them set for Spring 2022. I'm actually just finishing edits on the first revisions this week. The original title was Her Best Friend's Baby Surprise, but it looks like it will be changed to A Promise for His Daughter. I'll take it!

~*~*~Cover Reveal~*~*~
You voted for my new Indie book cover, and here are the results. Thank you for taking the time to do it. I really took each comment to heart and made the best changes possible on the winning cover.

In other news, I'm sorry to tell you this fall's release, Falling for the Coach, (above) has been postponed. I feel bad because we had a lot of fun on Facebook naming the town and some of the characters, but a last round of feedback from a trusted reader showed me that it's still not ready to be released this month. So, back to edits on this monster, which I love dearly, but not everything I love makes a great story. C'est la vie. I will keep you posted. Pinkie promise.

Check out these new releases (or books on sale) from my supportive author friends who write great books!

Thank you for reading all of my newsletters. I appreciate you letting my emails arrive in your inbox so we can stay in touch. Stay safe this month and find ways to enjoy the change of season even if it's just a daily walk. I am heading down to Costa Rica soon for adventure and exploration. Watch for my pics and posts on my Instagram page.

Have a wonderful day!

Warmly,
Danielle Thorne
